Julie's Baby Kitchen- Apple and Pear Purée

Meal Type: Snack, side dish

Preparation time: 40 min or less
Age: from around 6 month and over

Ingredients
Apple- 2 small whole apples
Pear- 3 whole pears

Equipments

Methods
1. Peel the apples and the pears.

2. Cut them into small pieces of roughly equal size.

3. Place them in the saucepan and add water so that it just covers the fruits. Bring the water to boil.

4. Boil the fruits for 16 to 20 min or until soft. It may appear a bit translucent and that's when you know it's ready, or you can use a fork to poke it.

5. Remove the soften fruits and use a stick blender to blend into the desired consistancy.

6. Divide and scoop the purée into containers and freeze for future use and a small portion into the fridge to be consumed in the next 1-2 days.

Bon appetite!

Note
- You can use any ratio of apple to pear.
- Use this purée to flavour plain yoghurt, porridge, rice cereals or even to sweeten a savory dish (esp if your baby is more fussy and likes sweet food over savory).
- This is a must have in your fridge because it is so versatile and yummy!! :D

Julie's Baby Kitchen- Pumpkin Mash

Meal type- Side dish or combine with other ingredients to make a main dish
Ingredient- 1
Preparation time- 30 min
Age- from around 6 months due after

Ingredient
Pumpkin- desired amount

Method
1. Wash and cut up the pumpkins into wedges.

2. Place the wedges into the steamer and steam for 20 minutes or until soft.

3. Scoop the soft pumpkin into containers, store into the freezer for future use or into the fridge to eat within 24- 36 hours.

Note:
There are various ways to cook pumpkin, such as steaming using microwave, stove, poach in water or baking. In this instance, I've chosen to steam via stovetop because it helps to retain the nutritional value of the pumpkin. But just do what ever pleases you, because you have to enjoy what you make so your baby can taste your love!

Tip:
Cut the wedges around the same size so they can be cooked evenly and at the same rate.

Method:
1. Scoop desired amount of yoghurt into a serving container.

2. Add desired amount of fruit to the same container.

Tip:
You can warm up the pouch in a warm glass of water for a few minutes. This will ensure your little one will enjoy a warmer dessert in cooler months! ☺️
