Our new life in London😽

🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
We have finally arrive in London!! (Big claps!!)  This is a life we have dreamed of for many years and it's now a reality!! We are very blessed to come during summer, because the days are longer and it's just lovely to have the sun shinning on you as you explore the new city!!

Arrived in time to celebrate my best friend's birthday! 🎂🎂

Just loving the new roads, nothing special really...

Interesting "pop up" store, literally!

People just enjoying the sun and having a picnic during lunch. (At Canary Wharf)

A simple play area near where we are.

It has been a very eventful 2-3 weeks actually. Can't say it's been all positive though... Our luggage was lost and didn't arrive after a week, we saw a mouse on our balcony as soon as we arrived in our services apartment, we couldn't stop coughing due to the dirty, dusty carpets, we had to move to a new apartment, new apartment's lift broke down after 2 days and we had to walk up and down 5 levels at least twice a day, and then our washing machine broke down for the weekend... The maid mistaken our own bed sheet as theirs and took it by accident and we can never get it back, my finger got infected so bad that I had to go see a doctor and take a course of antibiotics... My credit card never arrived... It's been non stop dramas. However, all this has not stop myself from embracing my new brilliant life in London!

When bad things are happening, I see it as a precursor to much more wonderful things coming your way!! It's a way that the devil want to discourage you and make you wonder if you are making the right choices, the "maybe I shouldn't have" or "should of" comes battling into mind. But instead, I'm excited!! I know my family have made the right decision for us and I just can't wait to see what's about to happen around the corner!!!

My puffy finger...

The Discovery Story Musum in Stratford

Nappies are so much cheaper here compared to Sydney!!! (Small wins!!💪🏼)

New places to explore!!

New flavours of grapes to discover.... It's surprisingly delicious! Can't go back to normal grapes now... 🍇

We are definitely onto some serious adventures and I'm looking forward to more of it... Whatever it may be.... Bring it on baby!!! 😝

God bless!!

Food Diary- Steam Fish Dinner

Our son is now 14 month old and we are transiting into family dinner meals. So I would make dishes with less salt and seasoning so that it is toddler friendly for him, then before us adult eat it, I would add more seasoning to taste!!

Today I made steamed barramundi with reduced salt soy sauce and shallots.
I used skin peeler to thinnly stripped sweet potatoes so it can be cooked quickly, together with noodles and some silken tofu! (We didn't eat the noodle, instead we had take away curry rice, was a bit lazy today...)
Voila! Tonight's dinner was a hit!!

Julie's Baby Kitchen- Fish and Tofu Soup plus Noodles

Dish type: Main
3 ingredients plus additional noodles
Prep and Cooking time: 15 min
Age: From 9 month

Ingredients
1. Chicken stock or water - 160mL
2. Fillet of fish, I used Ling Fish- 60g or just a small piece
3. Silken Tofu- 2- 3 tablespoon
This is available in all supermarkets or Asian food stores.

Method
1. Heat the chicken soup or water in a saucepan.

2. Add fish and bring to boil. Flake the fish into small pieces.

3. Add tofu and cook well.

I find the soup quite runny so I added two scoops of rice cereal to thicken it up.

Now if you like, you can boil some noodles to go with this soup to make it a meal!

Break up the noodles using your hands.

Boil the noodles according to the instructions on the packet.

Simply add to the soup and serve!!

Bon appetite!

My son really enjoyed this meal tonight!

Thank you mama!!

Julie's Baby Kitchen- Apple and Pear Purée

Meal Type: Snack, side dish
Ingredients: 2
Preparation time: 40 min or less
Age: from around 6 month and over

Ingredients
Apple- 2 small whole apples
Pear- 3 whole pears

Equipments

Methods
1. Peel the apples and the pears.

2. Cut them into small pieces of roughly equal size.

3. Place them in the saucepan and add water so that it just covers the fruits. Bring the water to boil.

4. Boil the fruits for 16 to 20 min or until soft. It may appear a bit translucent and that's when you know it's ready, or you can use a fork to poke it.

5. Remove the soften fruits and use a stick blender to blend into the desired consistancy.

6. Divide and scoop the purée into containers and freeze for future use and a small portion into the fridge to be consumed in the next 1-2 days.

Bon appetite!

Note
- You can use any ratio of apple to pear.
- Use this purée to flavour plain yoghurt, porridge, rice cereals or even to sweeten a savory dish (esp if your baby is more fussy and likes sweet food over savory).
- This is a must have in your fridge because it is so versatile and yummy!! :D
